Trying to speculate and guess the characteristics, feasible strategies,designing ways and the direction of development to Qiang pedestrian mall, through a comprehensive analysis of a practice project with related projects.Banaqia pedestrian mall,with the form of Qiang’s tradition,is in the central area of the new Beichuan Yongchang city in the municipality of Qiang ethnic minority, and also is a view of the city,which has positive effect to the businesses development of the city at same time.Because it is a large Qiang style commercial buildings, which is necessary to learn from traditional builds. Choose Qiang traditional architecture and the way being created as a starting point to learn the traditional characteristics of the typical space and building types, combining environment space elements of modern pedestrian mall. I raise the issue that the bonding point of tradition and modern,which the similar of the way to creat the space structure on each other.The core of the space structure is the relationship between "point and line ", which can develop the entire of the core area basing on it.The unique feature of Qiang pedestrian mall is the diversity of the core point.The special section of Qiang pedestrian mall is the core point which is the uncommercial public buildings such as watchtower.Because the ordinary pedestrian mall on that party is the large commercial facilities.On the other hand, Think the missing function parts and conflicting parts of the Qiang traditional architecture relative to ordinary pedestrian mall, such as the missing of business functions, the internal natural landscape, the contrast of Qiang’s defense inward-looking space and the open commercial space and the convergence of the two cultural.
