Curved girder bridge's particularity and complexity of the seismic response lead to the vulnerability of curved girder bridges in earthquake, and the current standard of aseismatic design about curved girder bridges were not given practical aseismatic design method. Curved girder bridge structure characteristics and mechanical properties are introduced in the paper, and the state-of-the-art of earthquake resistance study about curved girder bridge at home and abroad is reviewed. On this basis, finite element models of single span,two and three across small radius curved girder bridges which have different curvature radius were established in the paper. Seismic responses of this models were calculated and analysed. The affects rules of the earthquake response were investigated due to the change of curvature radius, span, the pattern of pier top supporting forms, the piers height and direction of seismic action, which would provided a certain reference for the seismic design of the curved bridge.For the typical small radius curved girder bridge of single span, paying attention to research the affect rules of the seismic response due to curvature radius, span and direction of seismic action. Internal force or displacement has two vertical direction components, when the seismic action in one direction. The two internal forces and displacements follow the curvature radius variation have different regularity when the direction of seismic action is to be determined.For multi-span (two and three span) curved girder bridge, paying attention to research the affect rules of the seismic response due to the curvature radius,the pattern of pier top supporting forms,the piers height and direction of seismic action. The effects of curvature radius and the seismic response of curved girder bridge's super-structure is same with the single span curved girder bridge, The internal force of curved girder bridge's sub-structure(piers) follow the curvature radius variation have different regularity; and the factors, such as the pattern of pier top supporting forms,the piers height have obvious influence to the part of internal force and displacement of bridge's super-structure and sub-structure, and have relation with the curvature radius.
