Catenary system is vital power supply device in electrified and high-speed railway, and its wind-induced response has immediate effect to the stabilization of power transmission from contact wire to the electrical locomotive, so it is of momentous significance to investigate the vibration characteristics and wind resistance of the catenary system. In this thesis, the distribution law of wind-induced static displacement for contact system was analyzed, and the phenomena that the dropper becomes invalid, as well as improved measures, was put forward, and the buffeting response calculation in time domain was completed while probability implicaton of correlative calculational result was discussed.Firstly, in this thesis a spatial model including column, support shelves and contact-suspension system was built in this thesis, and the localizer and the elastic sling were theoretically studied, and some proposals to analyze the geometric shape of the catenary wire were put forward:firstly, shape-finding of the catenary wire under self-gravity, secondly, that under the gravity of both contact wires and dropers, lastly, that under the coupling interaction of the suspension system and the support system This thesis studied the distribution law of wind-induced static displacement on the simple-type catenary systems and stitched chain suspension, and the phenomena that the dropper becomes invalid because its tension decreases to zero value, and its mechanism as well as the trend of some properties'change such as elasticity. It discussed some improved measures, of which the time for dropper to become invalid can be delayed because.Secondly, this thesis introduced the buffeting theory and concepts in aerodynamics into the contact system, and developed the buffeting model for the sections of catenary wire or contact wire, and the matrix expression of equivalent nodal buffeting force. It discussed the probability implicaton of buffeting response and how to judge the max or the min value from RMS. According to WAWS, this thesis got the time history sample of turbulent wind velocity, and it completed the buffeting response calculation, in time domain, of the simple-type catenary systems and stitched chain suspension.Lastly, some thoughts about further research, field test and wind tunnel test, are set forward curtly.
