The railway is one of our country most important transportation ways. And it shoulders very arduous duty on the transport of both passengers and freights. In order to alleviate the pressure of railway transportation, the skeleton railway of our country has carried on 6 rounds of "speed-up" campaigns successively. As a result of railway's high speed development, research on the passenger train braking system has also become one inevitable tendency. Meanwhile, the rapid development of rail lines inevitably sets a higher request to high speed and the quasi high-speed train brake technology. Therefore, it has a very vital significance to research the passenger train braking system. The F8 distribution valve is one of the key valves which have been applied in conventional passenger train braking system, through the deep research on its braking properties can provides the theory basis for its application and the maintenance. In this paper, the passenger train braking system with F8 distribution valve was taken as the main object to research, according to its structure, the principle of work and the flow of gas theory, the simulation model about braking system for single passenger train with F8 distribution valve was built on the platform of AMESim, through establish braking system key component's physical model, the properties of F8 distribution valve's under different function operating mode is studied in this research. And the correctness and reliability for the simulation model have been proved by comparing the results with the experiment data.Furthermore, the effects of valve parameters such as the initial installment strength of spring, the piston area and the quality to braking system performance also analyzed in this article. And in order to provide basis for improving the properties of the valve and maintenance, the braking system failures which often appear during the actual use process have been analog simulated simultaneously. The simulation model of passenger train braking system which includes 20 assemblies with F8 distribution valve is established in this article, and the service brake and the emergency brake simulation also carried on. Its reasonable numerical simulant results have the important guiding sense to the improvement of air brake valve performance and even the entire braking system's optimization.
