With economic development, increasing power load, power is constantly growing, long-distance transmission technology has been widely, however, the increase in tie line flow much faster than the speed of the grid construction, the stability of power by the local presence grid independent operation of the network transient stability gradually to the dynamic stability of running changes.Inner Mongolia Power Grid because of its energy structure and geographical location, the current from west to east in the North China Power Grid plays an important role within the Inner Mongolia Power Grid will determine the level of dynamic stability in Inner Mongolia Power Grid's transmission capacity outside the Inner Mongolia Power Grid level of dynamic stability is through the China Version BPA stability program calculated. Improve the dynamic stability of power levels, can improve the power grid transmission capacity, full use of equipment and power grid companies so as to obtain benefits.Calculated by small signal stability, the system can identify the existence of weakly damped modes, the damping model for a particular offender, the unit-specific configuration of PSS, to compensate for the voltage regulator to bring their own negative damping, thereby enhancing the system damping, improve the system dynamic stability level.This paper analyzes the reasons for the low frequency oscillations, excitation system, the principle of negative damping, low frequency oscillation in time domain, frequency domain analysis methods and criteria, the use of small signal stability analysis program for the detailed calculation of Inner Mongolia Power Grid and the analysis given the oscillation frequency of 0.2Hz-2.5Hz range of electromechanical oscillation modes may exist, including area oscillation mode, area oscillation modes, to improve the dynamic stability of power levels, but also requires the installation of PSS is given in the unit list.
