During Wenchuan earthquake,some lateral shear keys of bridges suffered severedamage that is partly caused by pounding between shear keys and girders.Tr the shearkey is not strong enough to prevent the motion of girders,large displacement ofgirders will bc caused,or cvcn lead to collapse of superstructures.Based on theprevious research achievements in this field and the characteristics of transverselyaseismatic measure el,Chinese girder bridges,an analysis model is built up lbrparameters analysis el,pounding between shear keys and girders.The main contentsof this dissertation are described as follows.Based on comprehensive reading of related literature home and abroad,thedamage of transverse shear key dadng Wenchuan earthquake,the design method ofshear key.the transversely aseismatic measure el,bridges and the effect el,shear keyon seismic response ofbridges,were reviewed and summed systcmly.According to the summary and comparison of con*in*ion pounding models,ananalysis model of pounding that considers the eccentric distance between shear keysand girders,nonlinear behaviors el,bearing and the elasto—plastic behaviors el,piershas been developed.Many parameters such as eccentric distances,pounding stiffness,gap betweenshear keys and girders,height ofpiers,mass ratio of supstnlcture and bent cap,periodratio of supstructure and substructure and elasto--plastic behaviors of piers areanalysed.The e".ect or installation or the rubber shock absorbing devices inside shearkeys is evaluated.The results indicate that the pounding considered the eccentricdistance between shear keys and girders enhances systematic non—linearity,and theeffect of eccentric distance on the pounding is relevant closely to the input groundmotions.Attention should be paid to the dangerous Ihetor.According to the aseismic measure of 32m simple—supported box girders on thehigh-speed railway,a rational analysis model of transverse pounding is built up forparameters analysis,The effect of SOHle factors such as secondary pemlanent loads,height el,piers.types orcushion block and elasto—plastic behaviors el,piers on seismic pounding responses are investigated.The results show that the aseismic measure ol,bridges oil the present high-speed railway is crucial to reducing relative displacementand effectively improves the lateral seismic performance.Installation of the cushionblock of hardwood significantly reduces the impact force between shear keys and girders....
