Brushless DC motors is a widely used motor and has a stable performance, so they has been an important drive components. There are two aspects for improving the performance of brushless DC motor to research. On the one hand, the research is about improving the motor control method; on the other hand, the research is about design the structural of motor, to achieve the rational design of motor structural, while motor performance is consisted.As the motor's internal situation is more complex, we needed considered the influences on motor performance by the various structural of the motor, and the relationships and influences between parameters, therefore, the design of motor needed comprehensive study of the amount of each parameter, selected various structural parameters accurately and reliably, to improve the performances of motor.In this paper, from the perspective of the motor structural parameters to improve motor performance, by ANSYS's electromagnetic simulation module we created a finite element model of brushless DC motor, so we could inspect the inside of motor's electromagnetic field, meanwhile, simulated and verified the structural parameters of motor, so we got the investigation of structural parameters on motor performance of the relevant impacts, and continued optimizing the sample data by optimization, provided a theoretical basis for motor design, produced high efficiency and energy saving motors.The main research works include:1. The paper researched the domestic & international and development tendency of brushless DC motor. The paper is a research about analyzing the structural parameters of motor and improving the performance of motor.2. Research on the theoretical motor of the motor, to calculate the motor's nonlinear electromagnetic fields by Analytical method and Numerical method, then established the motor's mainly electromagnetic equations.3. Created the finite element model of motor, and completed the motor model's transient electromagnetic simulation, got flux density, torque waveform, and the sample data about motor structure parameters and torque. Analyzed and researched the effects on motor performances of the motor structure parameters, which provided a model for motor design.4. Under the original sample data that came from the finite element analysis, selected the Differential Evolution Algorithm for optimization of structure parameters, got the optimized structure parameters, and re-created finite element model for verifying.
