Study On The Performance Of Foaming Agents Applied To The Foamed Concrete

This paper studied on the performances of foaming agents applied to the foamed concrete. The content included synthesis of foaming agent with good foaming stability, measuring the solution properties of one-component foaming agent and multi-component system. The better formula of composite foaming agent applied to the foaming concrete in lab.First, a new type of foaming agent named sodium lauroyl sarcosinate (LS-95) was prepared by the Schotten-Baumann method. The best four parameters that influenced the yield were found:the concentration of Sodium sarcosinate was 15 persent, the PH value of reaction is between 10 and 11, the volume ratio of sodium sarcosinate to acetone is 1 to 1.8 and the temperature of the reaction is 25-30℃. The quality of the sodium lauroyl sarcosinate prepared in the laboratory was the same as that of other famous company.Second, the foaming performances of eight foaming agents were tested with the instrument of Ross-Miles and the sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate solution (LAS) was chosen as the main foaming agent. The foaming performances of one-component foaming agent and multi-component system were studied. It concluded that with the condition of appropriate proportion of LS-95 it could effectively enhance the foaming performance of LAS. Specifically, in a mixture with 0.7% LAS and 0.175%LS-95, the foaming height could be increased by 8.1% and the foaming half-life could be increased by 22.7%.Finally, the foaming concrete was made by adding the composite foaming agent in lab. Taking the example of foaming concrete with the density of 500kg/m3 was made, through the method of Orthogonal analysis, the best parameters were founded: mass of cement was 700g, water cement ratiowas 0.32, the mass ratio of water reducing agent was 2 percent, the mass ratio of bentonite is 3 percent, the volume of adding foam agent is 120ml. The quality of foamed concrete made in lad met the professional standard of JC 1062-2007.
