The change of Water-level has a major influence on the stability and deformation of port fill slopes. Especially, when there is a reservoir in the downstream of port, the water level besides fill will show periodically variations under the conditions of water-impoundment and running of the reservoir, affects the stress field and the seepage field of slopes. Domestic researchers has finished some research on how drawdown affect on the stability of slopes in the past, but the consideration about the water level of the outside slope which causes the side slope transfusion distortion and the stable research are not so many. In this paper, based on the Fu-ling port project and embark from the existing theory and the test results, the model experiment and the numerical simulation experiment was carried out when considering the ratio between solid and stone and the water level change cycle, the stability and distortion of fillings under different periodic water level change were also researched and the analyzed. The primary contents and results are as follows:1) After on-the-spot investigation and the acquisition of information about Fu-ling port project, the hydrology and the geological situation have been grasped. Through gathering the soil sample, the port district water level change rule curve and the port district fills cross section form as well as the construction craft and method were obtained.2) Through indoor earthwork parameter experiment on the soil sample, the parameters of prototype soil sample were got. According to the existing soil sample stone gradation, the natural parameters experiment has been carried out.3) According to the model field actual size and natural parameter materials, the model size structure and the water level fluctuation scope as well as the speed were determined. After finished the model, the periodic water level change to the stable distortion of filling experiment was conducted.4)According to the test results , the water level periodicity change as well as the padding properties to the stable distortion of filling were analyzed. When under the precipitation, the fillings will have vertical displacement and lateral displacement, and the water level will have more influence to vertical displacement than lateral displacement. The model fillings and the water level change will influence the model displacement, the increasing ratio of soil to stone in fillings as well as the water level change cycle increases which will produce the adverse effect to fillings. 5) Based on the test results and the FLAC finite difference software, the dead weight stress and the high water mark as well as precipitation's displacement has been calculated separately, the physical model test result also been confirmed.
