With the increasing demand for bridge structure simplification and construction convenient, the prestressed concrete girder bridge at home and abroad, cantilever width of a single box multi-room box section that adaptable to a wide bridge to be more and more used. This kind of bridge has many characteristic such as spacing of the web is large, horizontal width of the flange is large, box wall is thin and so on. Take the research of mechanical behavior of the space wide box by the finite element analysis model and test simulation, understand spatial load situation of wide box under static loads, horizontal internal force transmission mechanism, shear lag effect and so on.This paper describes the development of wide box girder bridge, current status and development trends at first, clear and definite direction and content of the study. Then analysis the mechanical properties of wide box, detailed description of mechanical properties and shear lag effect of wide box, make theoretical basis for the analysis below.In this paper, analysis by ANSYS, we get the spatial load situation of wide box under self weight, self weight + uniform load, self weight + concentrated load, self weight + symmetrical load, and get horizontal internal force transmission mechanism, shear lag effect of wide box. Finally, measured the strain on the controlled sections by model experiment, then processed data and make analysis, obtains the internal forces distribution of control section. Compared with finite element analysis results, although there are some deviations, but the trend is consistent, The result is approximately consistent. It shows that the finite element software can simulate the spatial load situation of wide box, and it can be a effective way of depth analysis.In this paper, the analysis result of spatial load mechanical behavior of the wide box girder, has important theoretical and practical value in the case of the wide box girder bridge.
