Based on the general principles of concrete mix design, focuses on the research high performance from viewpoint of material selection, water requirement of lm3 of concrete and the ratio of sand etc. properties of the high performance concrete were tested and analyzed as well. As far as design methodology is concerned, in addition to the traditional design goals that the strength should meet the requirement of formula fcu, workability and durability of concrete should also be taken into consideration: cement with medium fineness and low C3A content was beneficial, besides strength requirements, high-quality slag and fly ash should be employed as much as possible; the use of medium and coarse sand with the least amount of clay mud content, as well as admixture of low alkali and sulfate content were also useful; different grades of high performance Concrete should be blended with suitable amount of minium water instead of the pursuit of low water cement ratio and high strength, in order to avoid the risk of shrinkage and cracking; excellent workability was another characteristic of high performance concrete, the sand ratio and adaptability of cement and superplasticizer should be adjusted time and again. It is shown that water binder ratio of high performance concrete designed according to formulas also meet the strength requirements; sand ratio should be adjusted according to the slump of concrete and function of the constructures repeatly, its impact on concrete workability next only to the water binder ratio; in the corrosion environment the types and percentage of admixtures should be changed accordingly, water binder ratio should meet both the durability requirements and strength requirement (low water binder ratio is prefered).
