Ministry of Railways intends to carry out the electrification transformation on Lanchow-Sinkiang Railway to improve the transportation capacity. But in the Xinjiang hundred-mile wind field, the change of wind velocity and elevation on the contact net is very important after the electrification transformation. The change of the position and height of wind-break wall affects the velocity and elevation on contact net directly. The bigger velocity and elevation angle, the bigger excursion and elevation. The big excursion and elevation bring malfunction to pantograph and net because of the instable electricity. The current wind-break wall can protect the train in a certain extent, without considering the influence of the wind velocity and elevation. The influence of the strong wind on the contact net needs more research.This article takes Computational Fluid Dynamics as a foundation, and uses the K-s/High Reynolds Number turbulent model to run the numerical simulation. The wind-break wall models use the earth type wind-break wall, the tendon type wind-break wall and reinforced concrete sand-break wall which are usually used on Lanchow-Sinkiang Railway. With the change of the wind-break wall parameters, establish the models with the different parameters. After calculations, we can get the wind number on contact net with the different parameters, and then we can choose the good parameters. The next calculation uses the van train model to calculate the aerodynamic force of the train, and then research the capsized torques of the train with the different railway. We can get the wind velocity and elevation angle, establishing the contact net model to calculate the aerodynamic force of the contact net. With good wind-break wall parameters, we can ensure the security of the train and the small aerodynamic force on contact net. The calculated result about the wind-break wall and contact net can be used in configuration design of contact net.
