"Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period is a period of accelerating the development of railway industry, high-speed and heavy load is an inevitable development trend in the railway industry. In the latest locomotive test table, the rail vehicle's speed can reach 600km/h.The test table needs to simulate some kinds of processing which rail vehicle may encountered in the true railway. So the test table needs a reliable device to store and release energy to simulate the load.The flywheel can meet the requirements, it used to simulate the load, inhibition rate fluctuations, make the test table can approach the real situation of vehicle operation.The flywheel may generate vibration in the high rotating speed. If vibration is violent may lead some severe results, such as axel fracture, produce serious noise and so on. Therefore, this paper applies the theory of rotor dynamic methods to research the vibration of flywheel. Change some parameters of flywheel rotor system, using the transfer matrix method to calculate critical rotating speed and unbalance response. The load which flywheel simulated mainly related to moment of inertia and rotate speed. The higher the speed, the greater simulate load. But if the rotate speed is too high may lead violent vibration. Squeeze film damper(SFD) is widely used in aviation engine, but less in rotating machine on the ground. The paper try to research the dynamic characteristics of the flywheel rotate system with SFD.After calculation and analysis, get following conclusions:1. The flywheel's quality from 3700 kilogram to 4500 kilogram,the greater the quality, the lower the critical speed, the larger the bearings amplitude.2. With the stiffness increased, critical speed will be increased. If the bearings stiffness have much difference, the bearings amplitude are also difference; Within a certain range, support span has one of the best value, but choose support span should consider the overall structure of the flywheel rotor system. 3. In the case of meet the critical speed, as long as strength permitted, the SFD's elastic support should as low as possible, and the oil film clearance should be larger.4. Within a certain range, increasing the amount of unbalance, the amplitude frequency characteristics do not change significantly, and the effect of squeeze film damper will increase;5. If the other parameters are determined, the oil film radius clearance have a most favorable range.
