With the development of power industry and widely used of automatics and communication technology in power system, it's clearer of the power network interconnection and it's much more important of stabilization monitoring and control in power system. Based on PMU (Phase Measurement Unit) WAMS (Wide Area Measurement System) create favorable conditions for stabilization monitoring and control of power system. With the GPS, PMU provides time scale to state quantity of nodal point or line with form of phasor. WAMS can monitor synchronously states of observation points in power network, which is very important to stabilization control, state estimation and smart grid.A general introduction of WAMS and PMU is given at the beginning of this thesis. Phasor measurement methods are summarized and their merit and demerit are analytic comparison.Considered the demand of real-time and measurement accuracy, this article presents a method based on improved instantaneous symmetrical components and three-point algorithm for synchronized phasor measurement. Positive and negative sequence components instantaneous value can be obtained by instantaneous symmetrical components method, sequence components and fundamental wave can be detected, then the frequency, amplitude, phase angle can be measured by the improved tree-point method. The MATLAB simulation results show that the proposed method has better real-time and higher measurement accuracy.Based on digital signal processor TMS320F2812, the design of PMU is introduced in detail. The design of hardware includes mainly that signal acquisition module, analog-to-digital conversion module, synchronous clock module and data processing module. The design of software includes mainly that main program, interrupt service routine of AD conversion and subprogram of phasor measurement.
