Small and medium sized brushless synchronous generator in the gas generator get a wide range of applications, how to improve the efficiency and stability of gas generators become a very importance and urgent issue. Excitation control system is an important component of Brushless synchronous generator, playing a very important role in improving the efficiency of gas generators safe and the stability of power system. Excellent performance of excitation control system not only ensures the safety and reliable operation unit for the electricity grid to provide qualified power,but also can effectively improve the power system static and transient performance.With expanding the gas power station capacity, affection of the gas generator to the power system will also be growing. Directly affected the stability of generating units, on the one hand is engine (prime mover), the other hand is the generator excitation system. How to improve the performance of the excitation system, is becoming significant. Especially to raise the gas generator exciting performance is showing a particularly important.This article introduce brushless synchronous generator excitation control system structure in detail at first, and in-depth analysis the excitation current theory under the synchronization network conditions. On this basis, proposed the theories in the regulation of excitation current by detecting the active component and reactive component of the load. Then, introduce how to create the mathematical model of the excitation control system all aspects and describe how to comply the excitation control system based on DSP. Try to develop a more better excitation system for gas generator.
