Until now for a long time in the future,electric excitation synchronous generatorwill still be the main equipment to output the electric power. There is an Electricalcomponent whose function is to import and export the current on the rotor of thesynchronous generator with brush, as a result, the generator has a complicatedstructure, so it is difficult to repair, and easy to produce arc and spark. In somespecific applications, explosion accidents will be happened. This thesis proposes aspecial structure of brushless synchronous generator, which does not need theexcitation generator any more. The special brushless synchronous generator has asimple structure, reliable operation, and also easy to repair.Using the magnetic circuit calculation method to design an electrical excitationgenerator whose rating power is12kW. Using Ansoft RMxprt rotary motor designsoftware to calculate and proofread parameters. According to the generator parameters,then using Ansoft Maxwell software to analysis the generator, the result is in line withthe motor design concept.Design of brushless excitation system on the generator of special structure, andaccording to the actual application, select the best scheme of brushless excitation.Using FEM to analysis brushless the generator, as a result,it is consistent with themethod of motor design. Based on performance comparison between the generatorwith brush and brushless generator, it is shown that rated operation performance ofbrushless generator is basically the same as the generator with brush, the design ofbrushless generator is reasonable and feasible.Analysis of the reactance, sub-transient reactance and torque angle characteristicon the brushless generator, as a result, we get their characteristic curve. There isno difference between the generator with brush and brushless; The characteristicsof no load, short circuit and zero power factor is analyzed, the result is also in linewith the motor design concept, and it is further demonstrates the correctness of thedesign.
