With the promulgation of 2006 new drinking water standards, the UF membrane that used in the new water and old water plants is now in widespread use, so it is obviously important to study on improving the performance of ultrafiltration membrane. This topic is in this context, on the basis of previous research, it first analyzes the influential factors of UF membrane performance, and then focus on the study on optimizing cleaning and membrane structures during operation, and finally consolidate the results on the improvement of UF membrane performance The main conclusions of this paper is as follows:①It is suggested that the most important factors of membrane fouling is the interaction of liquid particles with the membrane material ; temperature, ion concentration and pH, suspended solids ,organic matter , high cation, organic compounds such as hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties of the raw water will affect the UF membrane performance; hydrophilic and hydrophobic of membrane materials, surface properties make the membrane and contaminants in raw water attract each other in different ways, thereby affecting the membrane performance; the membrane surface velocity have a direct role in the formation of organic pollutants deposition and concentration polarization on the membrane surface,if the flow rate is too small ,it will increase the surface deposition of pollutants and concentration polarization.②UF membrane cleaning uses intermittent aeration and backwash cleaning, intermittent aeration intensity 1.5L / h, period 30min, duration 1min; first use the gas washing for 2min and meantime water washing for for 2min when backwash; use the membrane filtration backwash water by adding 5mg / l NaClO as raw water for backwashing. Through the optimal combination of the above cleaning method ,membrane performance can be more significantly improved.③When membrane stretching degrees (L / H) is 1.07 ,the effects of intermittent aeration and backwash are better than other L / H; Membrane double handing out water was better than single-mode effect of water④Coagulation, powdered activated carbon, zeolite. And these pre-treatments's combination with ultrafiltration membrane can significantly improve the membrane performance and extend membrane life.⑤According to pollutants, the type and extent of contamination and the characteristics of membrane itself, chemical cleaning choose effective, inexpensive, non-toxic side effects cleaning fluid formula. Cleaning agent can be used alone, but it often happens that it is used as a combination of two or three of them.The study shows that we can well controlled pore density and reduce the pore size. It has a positive effect on the the large scale application of UF membrane.
