Electric power is resource intensive industry, it is the basis of national economy, and it has an important position in people's life even production. However, power quality suffered from the serious pollution, the reason is that electricity develops fast and the scale of electrical power system amplifies continuously so that lots of nonlinear loads are used. With the improvement of computer technology, the embedded technology is employed extensively. The research and achievement of power quality analysis base on the ARM and Linux is proposed on the base of this situation.The present status at home and abroad, the existing problems and development tendency in future are outlined. Every indicator of power quality is described through the method of mathematical analysis. And the harmonic wave is mainly introduced. Compared the characteristic of some methods, FFT algorithm is applied at result. The window function is studied with the purposed of correcting and improving the phenomenon of the spectrum leakage.The hardware circuit and the software are realized through the embedded technology which is employed in the analysis of power quality. The hardware is constructed by the core processor PXA270 and the data acquisition circuit. Meanwhile some interface circuits are extended. Then these circuits are debugged. The development platform of the embedded system is presented. The driving program of devices and the application program are described specifically. The flowchart is detailed. The data through the experimental measurement is researched and analyzed.Finally, the conclusion is introduced, and the trends of power quality monitoring device is presented.
