So, its development is crucial for a city, especially in the day of deteriorating conditions of the environment, the development of city parks is a priority .This paper researched landscape planning and design of urban park through the inspection literature, field surveys, case analysis. On the basis of accurate definiting the definition and classification of urban park, its functions and characteristics were described in detail. The status and trends of the development of the city park was studyed, the problems and shortcomings during its development process was proposed, and the strategies and suggestions to the related problems were givened too.Analysised the impact factors of the urban park landscape planning and design deeply, summarized the related theories and urban theories which related to the urban park landscape design, proposed the urban park landscape design principles that should be followed.And on the basis of researching design elements of landscape planning in the city park, proposed ideas and methods for urban park landscape design, which provided a realistic basis and theoretical basis for the future design of landscape planning of urban parks. The prevailing contents of this essay could be summarized as follows:Firstly, emphasised and proposed problems and deficiencies of China's urban park development, including:On landscape aesthetics one-sided, pursuited idealized design, ignored the people's behavior; ignored local characteristics of urban parks, resulting in thousands of gardens with one face; landscape design was lack of integration, ignoring the expression of the theme of park; landscape objects mainly were static view, were lack of public participation.Secondly, proposed strategies to existing problems of landscape planning and design of urban parks: Coordinating with the city, paying full attention to human behavior; respecting the spirit of place, heritageing context, making the design with local characteristics; integrating park facilities'image, and extending to the surrounding areas of the park; increasing cheerful landscape, human design and human care. Thirdly, gave the principles of city park landscape planning and design:Respecting and protecting the historical context of a city where the park located, and exvavating the city's own culture, respecting the continue of place spirit; making the city park be rich of multiple colors; using local conditions to create urban park environment; people～oriented, and creating a harmonious space for a city park; highlighting topics of a park.Fourthly, summarized China's urban park landscape design ideas and methods: From researching establishing the theme, zoning and landscape planning and design of a park to propose the idears and methods of urban park landscape design, which have practical significance to landscape planning and design of urban parks.Fithly, as to the state station of Jinping mountain park, in accordance with the principles, ideas and methods of landscape planning and design to design the Jinping mountain park, putting the theoretical results into practice.
