DMD (Digital Micromirror Device is called DMD for short) as an infrared scene generator, which has high frame rate, high spatial frequency, high grayscale, good uniformity and other advantages, is generally concerned in the study of target simulator for infrared imaging guided system. According to customer needs, a design on DMD-based target simulator for infrared imaging guided system is proposed. The main contents include:First of all, the DMD device composition is presented, the principle of DMD device's optical path control, gray control theory and micromirror flip timing are analyzed. The composition principle and specifications of the DMD-based target simulator for infrared imaging guided system is analyzed. This simulator's program element is proposed, the simulator's working principle and design challenges are expounded.Secondly, according to the design, components of the optical system is outlined, the lighting system and projection lens are designed. Lighting systems have two parts: the illumination lens use Kohler illumination with a lens, meeting the requirements of uniform illumination and simplifying system structure; transfer lighting lens use symmetry telecentric optical lens to satisfy the image quality requirement, while realizing 1:1 imaging with small distortion. Projection lens is designed with two materials and four lenses; MTF closes to the diffraction limit, a small amount of distortion to satisfy the image quality requirement. To simulate the -40°target, transfer lighting lens and projection lens need to work in the refrigeration environment, so the two optical systems are athermalized.Finally, the high-temperature blackbody's temperature is calculated, the system's optical properties and simulation performance are summarized. The alignment method of transfer lighting lens is proposed. The final optical system has good performances, meets the indicator, and achieves high grayscale while improving the ability of simulating higher temperature target.
