This paper is based on the Research Project"stability analysis of slope in cold " of the Ministry of Railways. The treatment measures used in the seasonally frozen soil of cutting slope of testing project of Harbin-Dalian Passenger Dedicated Line were implemented and studied through site test, real-time monitoring, theoretical and numerical analysis after the thawing collapse of cutting slope in the first spring. Main contents are as follows:⑴Through the comparison and analysis of long-term monitoring data of horizontal displacement, temperature, water content of the treated and the non-treated slope of the Harbin-Dalian Passenger Dedicated Line, these studying results are obtained, as following:①the corresponding relation of horizontal displacement and the different depth of soil, deformation rate and monitoring time of the treated and the non-treated slope;②the change law of temperature of soil with different depth in the period of freezing and thawing;③the corresponding relation of water content and soil depth. Based on above analysis, the characteristics of various changes of the treated and the non-treated slope are analyzed, and the rationality of measures is evaluated.⑵The coupling between displacement field, stress field and moisture field is realized by the finite element software ABAQUS, and numerical calculation is performed to analyze the physical field of the treated and the non-treated slope with the condition of summer rainfall. According to the results of stress field, displacement field, pore fluid velocity vector field, equivalent plastic strain distribution field, it can be proved that the project design and implementation of measures are proper.⑶Through the coupling between temperature field and the above three fields by the finite element software ABAQUS, and numerical calculation under the conditions of freezing and thawing, the temperature field of the treated and the non-treated slope on different month is obtained, and is compared with monitoring date, and it can be concluded that the numerical calculation is correct. From the results it can be found that the engineering measures can play a role in insulation and can reduce the soil characteristics of the maximum frozen depth. The situation of the equivalent plastic strain and the corresponding stability safety factor are contrasted with the same reduction factor in the treated and non-treated slope, and the compared resluts further indicates that the engineering measures can improve the stability in cold regions significantly.
