The equivalent vortex flow pattern is widely used in the traditional design of axial fan. The method is relative simple, and has irrotational motion form. So the method is considered efficient. But the method also has obvious disadvantages. The blade designed by the method is too twist. And the relative velocity grows too fast along the radial direction. For gas media, it will lead the Mach number to grow too fast. Arbitrary vortex flow pattern is the optimal flow pattern for increasing efficiency and reduceing noise. The method can meet the demand of various designs.Skewed-Swept technique has been used in the design of axial fan. The technique can also increase efficiency and reduce noise. Both equivalent vortex flow pattern and arbitrary vortex flow pattern were used in the thesis. And Skewed-Swept technique was added to the design. The thesis mainly included the following aspects:First, the special module of aerodynamic design was built based on both equivalent vortex flow pattern and arbitrary vortex flow patternSecondly, the parametric modeling module of axial fan was built by the secondary development of SolidWorkes software. Finally, the aerodynamic performance and aeroacoustic characteristics of axial fan were analysed. The axial fans designed by equivalent vortex flow pattern, arbitrary vortex flow pattern and Skewed-Swept technique were compared emphatically.
