Shafting vibration is one of the key problems when designing ship shaft. Shafting vibration substantially affects the safety and reliability of ship shaft. The axial vibration of shafting has been one of the hot spot researches.The axial vibration of shafting is mainly caused by the vertical pulse power. Severe resonance is maybe caused by vertical vibration. On the one hand, the vibration can be spread to ship hull near to the thrust bearing, doing harm to the ships. On the other hand, the reliability of the elastic joints will be affected, even if thrust bearing will be frayed severely or burned out fever. Therefore, throughout the study of shaft longitudinal vibration, this study puts forward a series of vibration reduction measures and designs a resonance changer for one shafting. Major contributions are as follows:Basic research of shafting vertical vibration: Finite element method is selected for a shaft effective calculation method by studying various calculation methods of ship shaft vibration. And the critical axial speed of ship shaft is acquired through the analysis of shaft system by using ANSYS. The design of resonance changer: The principle of dynamic vibration absorber is studied. The models of dynamic tuning damping and Resonance Changer are designed according to the shaft structure data by using Pro/E. The optimization of resonance changer: The shaft is as for single-degree-of -freedom linear system by using the method of Dynamic tuned vibration reduction theory and the Resonance changer is optimal designed according to the vibration data. The effect analysis of Resonance changer: This paper does a calculation study for the shafting which is added the Resonance changer and the effects on vibration suppression.Through the research work in this study, a kind of Resonance changer with better performance effect is designed, and it's laid a theoretical basis on the application of ship shafting.
