In recent years, data center has become an industry in China. From pre-planning, design, operation and maintenance are more and more specialized. At the same time the capacity of the data center is increasing. The data center construction being an independent and private building has become the trend. From pre-planning, data center features are different from civil construction. The large capacity of UPSs generate huge harmonic which is the biggest hazard of data center's safe and stable operation.Firstly, it will expatiate on the cause and characteristic of harmonics generated by UPS and these harmonics hazard in data center which is a particular environment. Because data center's main purpose is providing operation environment for IT equipments, so there is quite difference between data center and normal civil building.Furthermore, it studies harmonics generated by the different rectifier ways of UPS compares measured data. Describe the different types of UPS harmonic generation mechanism and different harmonic spectrum. Also it describes the new generation of IGBT rectifier UPS's technology principles and compares the availability between IGBT UPS and SCR UPS.Thirdly, it describes the most broadly applicated technologies are 6-pulse rectifier UPS, 12 pulse rectifier IGBT Rectifier UPS. A conclusion that the 3 types of UPS harmonic value is decreasing in turn, is made by comparing with theoretical calculations and my measurements in many projects. However, due to lower than the SCR IGBT UPS reliability and large capacity IGBT UPS UPS still need be more parallel connected, the high-power IGBT UPS is seldom used. Therefore, the choice of harmonic control program must also be combined with scenarios, project investment, installation site conditions, system reliability and other factors, not simply the pursuit of the best control effect.Finally, in many large projects, there are serveral types of parallel connected UPS System becaused of the combination of multiple UPS rectifier consist in phase-shift solutions. These combinations provide more choice for parallel connected UPS System. In this thesis, it compares each type of combination with harmonic filtration effect, load rate, and formes a reference model for N+1 and 2N systems. These models are also can be refered as the data center quickly choice for UPS systems in plan plase. In this thesis, it tries some research UPS harmonic filtration solution in line with our data center's project features. Through theoretical calculations and tests, draw some conclusions and provide a variety of UPS harmonic filtration reference model for the majority of data center designers to accelerate the pace of development of the data center industry.
