Model testing and full scale performance prediction on trailing suction hopper dredger is very important for ship lines design. Based on the standard single propeller ship performance prediction in 2D & 3D methods, twin propeller ship speed prediction in 2D & 3D methods is established in this paper. A method for self-propulsion test in dredging condition and full scale dreg force prediction is proposed. Model tests are conducted with five different twin propeller trailing suction hopper dredger models. Full scale ship speed and drag force are predicted in 2D & 3D methods, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is validated. The final prediction results in two different methods are also compared.
