Electric connectors especially connectors for card have a broad practical application in modern society. These connectors are mainly used in engineer as connector between card and electric devices. In these applications, certain mating/unmating force is necessary to ensure unfailingly connection. However, in modern electric devices with small scale, the space that can be offered for outputting the card is very limited and hence the larger mating/unmating force make the outputting process become very hard. To solve this issue, a push-push mechanism has been proposed for the outputting process of card from the card connector recently. Nowadays, both the dynamic property and the durability of the push-push mechanism on card connectors attract much more attentions. The dynamic property of the push-push mechanism is the guaranty of its work. And the durability is the demand of users for the most benefit. Therefore, we carry out research on these two issues.We first analyze the push-push mechanism and the card connector to consider both the design demand of the push-push mechanism and the standard for its quality. Based on this, we establish the numerical model of the push-push mechanism through the IDEAS software and then analyse the characteristic of its components. This work paves a way for the further dynamic analysis and mechanic analysis.On the foundation of the established numerical model, we analyze the dynamic property and mechanic property of the push-push mechanism. Through the dynamic analysis, we summarize a series design rules for the push-push mechanism, which pave the foundation for the optimization and application of the push-push mechanism. These designs rule have been used as a design criterion for the push-push mechanism in our company and have leaded to certain benefit. Through the mechanic analysis for the push-push mechanism, we establish a mechanic analysis model for the push-push mechanism. We have validated this model by comparing the simulation results following this model and the experimental result on the prepared push-push mechanism. This model offers a theory to interpret the failure phenomenon of the push-push mechanism and to optimize the push-push mechanism.Finally, based on our model, we analyze one of our callbacked products with typical issue of lower durability to identify the source of the issue. We found that the shortage in the rigidity of one plate is the cause for the lower durability. According to our analysis, we improve the design of the push-push mechanism and the test the durability of the resultant products. We found that the durability improves a lot and meets the client demand. This new design brings many order form, which indicate that our design make certain benefit for the society.
