In order to satisfy the rapid economic development, especially in the south-east area, the express railways and highways are in construction. However, for the soft clay in these areas, which is featured by obvious rheology , and it will be accelerated under long cyclic load, which will be the cause of foundation tilt, instability and uneven settlement. So it is important to do research on creep and accelerated creep of soil under static and traffic load, which will be meaningful for the engineering application.A series of undrained static triaxial tests are conducted in order to learn about the Binhai soil creep under static load, and the creep empirical formula which can express the relationship of stress-strain-time is concluded according to the test data. In order to analyze the steady creep and the feature of accelerated failure under cyclic load, a series of unidirectional pressure dynamic triaxial tests have been done, the influencing factors of radial pressure, frequency and the ratio of consolidation are researched in the purpose of doing research in critical dynamic stress, taking these three factors into account about the development of soil creep under same dynamic stress.Considering the long-term effects of the actual embankment's gravity static loads and dynamic loads on the soft foundation, tests were designed composed different dynamic and static bias stress, focused on analyzing the movement of coupling dynamic and static bias stress under cyclic loading, which have effects on long-term creep rate of the soft clay. Then research a creep rate empirical formula under long-term cycle effects which can consider the peak bias stress, dynamic bias stress and the undrained strength of soft clay. This achievement can be applied in to long-term settlement predict and control of soft soil subgrade under traffic loads.
