The landscape design of waterfront trails in urban waterfront space waschosen as the research object; studied systematically and comprehensively inthe big environment background of urban waterfront space.Water is the source of life and the most basic condition for humansurvival. People's love for water makes waterfront space the most yearningand crowded place. Waterfront trails located at the junction of water spaceand land space, presenting the beautiful blending space of naturalenvironment and artificial landscape, was the ideal place for waterfrontrecreation and leisure.The importance of the waterfront trails landscape design was putforward, taking the mutual relations of waterfront trails construction and citywaterfront development as the breakthrough point. The research theoryframe and method was summarized basing on the relevant research andpractical case. The waterfront trails consists of entity elements andnon-entity element; how the non-entity elements affecting the entityelements in design was carried on through the detailed analysis of thephysical elements, and the design techniques are discussed combined withthe examples. Taking behavior characteristics and content of people in thewaterfront trails of landscape space as study object, specifically therelationship between visual form and waterfront trails space were discussed.The design guideline of "person as the service object" was built on severalaspects of scale, color, light and shadow. Space will be divided into entertainment and leisure venues, sports leisure, cultural leisure venues andnatural ecological recreation venues according to different activities, onwhich the construction of typical space was discussed.The practical application of the four elements of revetment design, theplant design, landscape sketch design, and night view system design wasdiscussed in detail Through the design case of the city leisure culture park ofXiajia river "water rhyme", basing on the systematic characteristics of thespace form and the linear space, combining with the literature material anddesign standard, case analysis was done using the structure diagram,rendering and live action photos. Verify and apply the results of thewaterfront trails theory research, combining the theoretical analysis offormer chapters. Research results can provide guidance for the waterfronttrails design of urban waterfront space.
