With the increasing scarcity of oil and worsening air pollution, how to develop a new electronic energy-saving technology of automobile becomes the core and priority in the technology transformation of current automobile manufacturing. As an important part of the electronic control system in automobile engine, electronic throttle control system directly controls the quantity of air into the engine. Its performance will affect the dynamics and energy-saving situation of the vehicle directly.The object of this research is the electronic throttle in Santana 3000. With the serial number 0280750189, it's also a production of Shanghai United Automobile Electronics Factory. Because it's too difficult to improve the speed of system response and achieve suppression of overshoot at the same time, the original control system using PID algorithm doesn't have good control results. At the same time, there are many nonlinear factors in the electronic throttle. They make it much difficult to get good control results by using PID method. Fuzzy control can effectively compensate for the nonlinear factors of electronic throttle and result in better dynamic performance. But as a non-linear control algorithm, the fuzzy control method cannot easily eliminate the residual error.In order to improve the control effect, I proposed a new fuzzy PID control method which integrated the advantages of both fuzzy control and PID algorithm. According to the parameters of Bosch throttle, we established a mathematical model and did the algorithm simulation comparison experiments between fuzzy PID and PID method. The simulation results show that the control system using fuzzy PID algorithm can improve the control effects of electronic throttle.Using the chip MSP430F169, we developed an electronic throttle control system. Using H bridge driver TLE6209, we successfully controlled the DC motor. Using the chip SP3220E, we designed a serial communication module and achieved the communication between the MCU system and host computer. Through C language programming of the fuzzy PID algorithm in this paper, we finished the software programming of the entire system.Finally, we build an experimental platform of the electronic throttle and did the experiment of the control system. The result of the experiment shows that the control system using the fuzzy PID algorithm can fulfill the controlling requirements of electronic throttle.
