The groundwater is often polluted by organic matters. The treatment of micropolluted groundwater with high concentration of Fe and Mn using a well-established biofilter column is investigated in this paper. The test treats the micropolluted groundwater with high concentration of Fe and Mn using manganese ore and ceramsite fiter column, and investigates the removal rule and influencing factors. The test analyses organism cultivation process. After 40 days, the cultivation process finishes. The manganese ore fiter column has a good purification efficiency of micropolluted groundwater, and the concentration of Fe, Mn and CODMn in the effluent is respectively 0.1mg/L, 0.05mg/L and 1.5mg/L. The ceramsite fiter column has a good purification efficiency for CODMn, but nor for Fe and Mn. The concentration of Fe, Mn and CODMn in the effluent is respectively 0.5mg/L, 0.5mg/L and 1.5-2.0mg/L.The results indicate that both in the manganese ore and ceramsite fiter column, Fe2+ is romoved in the upper part of the biofilter column effectively, and Mn2+ and organics are both romoved in the middle and lower parts effectively. The removal of Mn2+ and organics don't influence each other essentially. Mn2+ and organics can be removed simultaneously. The ceramsite fiter column can remove organic matters efficiently, but not for iron and manganese. The fiter is reformed. 25cm manganese ore is puted under the ceramsite. After that, the purification efficiency is improved. The defect of the ceramsite fiter column is corrected and the superiority is keeped. The test analyses influence conditions of purification process, such as filtration rate, Do, backwash and shutting column. Among these, DO influences most. When DO is not enough, the purification efficiency of CODMn and Mn2+ becomes poor. When the concentration of DO, Fe2+ and Mn2+ in the raw water is respectively 10mg/L, 6mg/L and 1.2mg/L, the limitation removal concentration of CODMn is 6mg/L. When the groundwater with high concentration of Fe and Mn also has high concentration of organic matters, the test adopts ceramsite- manganese ore biofilter and the efficiency is good.
