In recent years, cable-stayed bridge has been rapid development, become the fastest growing modern bridge engineering and the most competitive one of the bridge in the world with its beautiful shape, large spanning capacity, reasonable structure, good mechanical properties and relatively economical cost. At the same time, with the substantial growth in cable-stayed span, also will increase the length of cable, the vibration problem has become more prominent. For large span cable-stayed bridge, the vibration control of stay cables has become the first one of the key issues to be solved in cable-stayed bridge construction. So far, in the actual project passive cable vibration dampers is the most widely used to control vibration.This paper focuses on the damping characteristics of cable-damper system were analyzed, The following aspects are the major research:1.Describes the development of cable-stayed bridge, problems caused by cable vibration, and its vibration mechanism, mainly discussed the cable-damper system theory model and the theory of vibration equation.2.The natural properties of fluetuating wind fields is depieted. Based on the formulation of CAWS(Constant Amplitude Wave Superposition), Compiled the wind field simulation program, realized stay-cables fluctuating wind field effectively model, obtained the wind velocity time-history curve of stay-cables, and based on this, obtained the wind force the time-history curve of stay-cables.3.Using ANSYS large finite element software for the cable-damper system and the single (double) cable-damper-beam combination system is simulated, the modal analysis were obtained, and the natural frequency of the system were obtained respectively; when the damper in different position through to cable-damper system time history analysis, comparing the position displacement of additional damper the impact of the cables damping properties and cable vibration attenuation; when the damping coefficient change, the cable-damper vibration attenuation was analyzed, compared the additional damper effect to the influence of vibration reduction; And analysis of the beam for an additional damper effect.Through the above analysis, on the damper and damping changes at different positions under the wind load,studied cables-damper system of vibration reduction, discussed the impact of an additional damper on the cable vibration effects of the factors .
