Vehicle ride comfort is an important factor of affecting occupant comfort or making goods in good condition, affecting vehicle dynamics and economy and the service life of components. Therefore, ride comfort is an important performance index that similar cars compete advantage in the market competition, and the improvements of ride comfort receive more and more attention. With the development of automobile technology, study on large construction vehicles'ride comfort has been paid more and more attention.The study object in this paper was a three-axis concrete mixer truck, and compared with similar products, its ride comfort is poor. Through a combination of theoretical and experimental methods, the vehicles' ride comfort was analyzed and improved by means of computer simulation technology.Through vibration testing and analysis of the original prototype vehicle on different working conditions, the resonance speed and the main vibration characteristics of whole vehicle were found, providing guidance to ride modeling. The test results also verified the model accuracy as the standard.The dynamic parameters required by dynamic model of vehicle were effectively identified. The parameters of cab suspension stiffness and damping, spring vertical stiffness and damping, the main shock absorber damping, tire vertical stiffness and damping, were effectively identified by the methods of theoretical analysis, finite element analysis, experimental test analysis, laying the foundation for establishment of dynamic model.Based on the above parameters and the experimental test results, the whole vehicle dynamic model was built by the multi-body dynamics simulation software platform ADAMS while is based on virtual prototyping. Model accuracy is verified. The main reason of severe vehicle vibration was found by the analysis of dynamic characteristics of vehicle dynamics model, and specific measures of vehicle improvement were proposed with the means of combination of theory and simulation.Vibration test of the improved Prototype vehicle was analyzed and the results showed that the ride comfort had been effectively improved, verified the feasibility and effectiveness of the method used in this paper.
