Development On Diesel Engine Operation Status Monitoring And Diagnosis System

Diesel engine is the pivotal equipment of vessels as the propel power. The operation status of diesel engine will directly influence vessel's navigation. According to statistics of commercial ship, mechanical fault (about 22%) is No.1 among the causes of numerous sea disaster. And engine fault occupied 45% in the mechanical faults. It is necessary to study, develop and apply the operation status monitoring technique and fault diagnosis technique of marine diesel engine to find and expel the engine faults on time, especially avoid great vessel accidents happen.This paper developed marine diesel engine operation status monitoring and fault diagnosis system based on labview, C++Builder, SQL server and expert system programming language by using 16PA6 marine diesel engine as object. The accurately monitoring of diesel engine overall status will be achieved by the accurately measurement of engine key operation parameters, and the acquisition, analysis, display, translation, alarm, storage, transmission of the measure data. The correctly diagnosis of big fault of marine diesel engine important parts will realized by development of fault diagnosis module. Finally simulation tests and installation trial have validated the validity of the whole system.
