Plant colors of are very important components in landscape. At present forplants colour study focuses on its colour the formation mechanism of discussion andlandscape color harmony theory conclusion, external performance color for plantsand investigation method research survey little. Therefore,the approaches of colorinvestigation for landscape plants was studied integrally in this paper.The maincontents were as follows:1, Three points were made based on studying of docouments on colorinvestigation for architecture: Firstly the objects which their colors wereinvestigated could be classified by the structure of the community, This paper willinvestigate plant community is divided into four major categories. Secondly,colorindex was proved to be more suitable in practice. Thirdly,two kinds of methodswhich represented the color composition of urban landscape plants were suggested.2, In this paper, the nanjing quality landscape of74autumn community weresurveied, using the method, SBE, of selecting the final19community toquantitative analysis, eventually got popular in the autumn plant landscape samplecommon colour characteristics: Colour quantity, the main color, the colordistribution proportion type and the best proportion of color. And based on theinvestigation results recommended color scheme.3, The case study in Laoshan Park was made in this paper.Two kind of colorpalette were made.One was based on the color frequency.The other was based oncolor composition and distance effects for a certain viewpoint. The modificationSuggestions and improvement measures were given according to the above conclusion.
