Of Huzhou Pocket Park Landscape Integrated Design

Pocket Park, as a new form of urban open space, is the inevitable trend of city development. It is no longer an isolated form design. In stead, it has gradually evolved from basic transportation, religion and business functions, into today's multi-functional, integrated environment. On micro-structure levels, unification generally refers to the design strategy, which is intimately related to urban space structure, and whose function is relatively clear, and whose environment is relatively globalized.Through analysis of the background of pocket park development, this thesis summed up current situation of design, and pointed out existing problems. With classification method based on field research, thesis analyzed significant cases of Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing, Suzhou, and also incorporated design cases of Huzhou. Thesis discusses the relationship between pocket park and urban space, transportation and architecture, the relationship between pocket park and urban natural environment, historic sites, urban life, and business. Based on that, thesis raised guide rules for urban pocket park design unification, and also discussed basic strategy of unified landscape design.Thesis is organized in four parts:Chapterâ… -Chapterâ…¡:Mainly discusses definition of urban pocket park, analyzes the hierarchical structure and types. Based on the analysis of urban pocket development in China, this part summarized the current status of landscape design of urban pocket parks, and provided background research for the following parts.Chapter III:From factors like land layout, planning structure, function design, transportation organization and space activities, this part studied typical cases of Shanghai, Nanjing, Beijing, and Suzhou, analyzed relativities of urban pocket parks with historical sites, natural environment sites, commercial sites, residential sites, and street traffic, incorporated comparison with urban pocket parks in Huzhou, raised design guide rules of landscape unification.
