Aesthetic Study On Street And Alley Space In Dayan Ancient Town In Lijiang Ancient City

The ancient and natural Dayan Ancient Town in Lijiang City has a long history, and it is one of the World Heritages recognized by the UNESCO and one of the Chinese Historical and Culturally Significant Cities promulgated by the Chinese State Council. It not only contains the unique fortress looks and the appearance of water, but also implies the curious Naxi culture. As an ethnic city with a long history, Lijiang Dayan Ancient Town absorbed a wide range of architectural styles of other nations, and integrated the architectural culture and aesthetic sense of their own nation into it, forming a unique spatial distribution of Naxi style. Taking the Square Street as its core, seemingly randomly, but actually with great originality, the streets and alleys extend from the Square Street out to around the city, forming a spider-like transportation system. Although the city has not been systematically planned, the beauty of its own unique charm attracted a steady flow of foreign tourists from all over the world to savor its charm.Many of the original styles of the ancient towns have been destroyed, and the traditional urban layout of streets and alleys has faded or has been lost. Only the heritage with national features belongs to the world. Confronting today's increasingly-burning-fierce national style, we should tap the essence of the spatial layout of streets and alleys in Lijiang Ancient City, and apply the national elements of the spatial layout of the streets and alleys of Lijiang Ancient City to modern urban design, thus, achieving both the heritage of the philosophy of the ancient city design in our country and the development of modern urban design, and achieving a "win-win". This demonstrates that the research of the spatial layout of streets and alleys in Lijiang Ancient City is very important. This paper takes the street and alley space layout of Lijiang Dayan Ancient Town in Yunnan as the research object, studies the aesthetic characteristics and aesthetic expressions of its street and alley space system deeply and systematically, analyzes its visual harmonious beauty, its form, imagery and meaning, to explore the essence of the space layout of Lijiang Dayan Ancient Town, and to protect the traditional city streets and alleys.The research is undertaken mainly from the following aspects:firstly, grasp the related developing history of the overall layout of the Lijiang Dayan Ancient Town systematically, analyze its developing historical context of the spatial layout and explore the overall profound aesthetic value and significance contained in its layout; secondly, analyze the expression of natural beauty, the expression of formal beauty and the expression of artistic conception beauty through the factor that Dongba Sect, Naxi traditional culture and Chinese culture blend each other; thirdly, based on the expression of symbolic meaning, explore the effects of the spatial layout aesthetic concept of the street and alley in Lijiang Dayan Ancient City on modern urban planning and landscape design, study the protection and exploration of the streets and alleys in Lijiang Dayan Ancient City in the future, and give advice on the nowadays urban planning.
