With the acceleration of urbanization process and the release of reforms in housing system, people are increasingly urgently hoping to improve their housing conditions while being satisfied with their material life. Recently, many land agents see landscape in dwelling districts as an important selling point in the hope of attracting buyers through elegant living environment. Therefore, there has been a rising climax in which real estate developers create graceful living environment and many styles of living environment has been uprising. The design of good landscape in dwelling districts must take into account physiological and psychological needs of inhabitants, whose physiological and psychological enjoyment and release should be attained by different organizations and arrangements of landscape in dwelling districts. The paper, with creating artistic conception as its entry point, tries to encompass the ensuing points:first, analyze formal beauty of landscape in dwelling district and introduce its principles and concrete embodiment of formal beauty of different styles of landscape; secondly, explore the position of artistic conception in Chinese culture and particularity of artistic beauty of landscape indicating the importance of artistic beauty in designing landscape of swelling districts; third, explore artistic beauty of classic dwellings to throw light on creating modern artistic beauty in landscape design of modern dwelling districts; at the same time, the paper also elucidates how to carry out design with artistic beauty and conclude ways to create artistic beauty of landscape in dwelling districts through aspects such as the arrangement of plants, paving of roads, layout of waterscape, design of illumination, landscape of entrances, central landscape surrounding landscape of high-rise housing and villa housing, as well as sign system; last but not least, analyze how to create and embody artistic beauty of modern landscape of dwelling districts through graduation project and case study. The paper aims at exploring the creation and embodiment of artistic beauty in landscape of dwelling districts in the hope of satisfying people’s requirements in living conditions and exploring modern modes of urban living landscape with artistic beauty.
