With the development of city construction, the number of irregular structure increases gradually. Under the earthquake, irregular structure will produce obvious translation-torsion coupling reaction, which could influence its seismic performance seriously. Under the translation-torsion coupling earthquake action, translation and torsion motion of corresponding isolation layer occurs, and lead rubber bearing is under two-dimensional shear. Constitutive relationship and energy-consumption are completely different from those under one-dimensional shear. Study on mechanical properties of bearing under two-dimensional shear is less, which usually stays in the aspect of theory and imperfect.For further study on mechanical properties of lead rubber bearing under two- dimensional shear, this paper designed a two-dimensional strength device. Through changing layout of pressure transducers and LRB100 and the displacement of level actuator, shear compression test of lead rubber bearing whose diameter is 100mm (LRB100) in horizontal two-dimensional loading was conduct. There are two kinds of test conditions: (1)Horizontal displacement X:Y=0.5:1;(2)Horizontal displacement X:Y=1:1.The horizontal stiffness and damping ratio of LRB100 in Y direction were got. Results of shear compression test in horizontal one-dimensional loading and two-dimensional loading were compared.In addition, test of LRB100 in horizontal one-dimensional loading and two-dimensional loading were simulated simply. Finite element model of LRB100 uses element SOLID 185. Using Mooney-Rivlin model, double linear isotropic hardening model and linear elastic model separately, material property of rubber, lead and steel plate.After selecting proper material parameter, meshing and determining loading system, the tests were simulated. The simulation results by ANSYS shows that finite element numerical analysis and test results are coincident well.
