All the time, the seal waterproof problems have been the main factor which seriously affected the safety, reliability and low cost maintenance of aircraft. In this paper, a new method of new type JMF series colloidal sealants applied to the seal waterproof of aircraft structures was proposed and a more in-depth series of studies was discussed, aiming at such problems as the water seepage, water leakage, and accumulated water which leads to corrosion damages or failures widespread existing in active aircraft structures. The research contents and main achievements are as follows.1. Sort out the seal waterproof techniques in active aircraft structures, and the main causes for the water seepage, water leakage, and accumulated water which results in structural corrosion problems existing in typical aircraft structures were analyzed. The essential ideas and overall technical schemes of the applicable study of the new colloidal seal waterproof technique in aircraft structures were proposed.2. Took the typical "flat" seal gaskets applied in active aircraft structures as the seal waterproof samples, the course of water seepage and water leakage of the typical seal waterproof structures was reappeared under lab conditions and the main factors that lead the structures to water seepage and water leakage were verified.3. The main performance testing and representation method of the new type JMF series colloid sealants were proposed and established, the contrast test between the new type colloidal sealant and relative aeronautical products was completed. The results showed that the JMF colloidal sealants have the excellent physical and chemical stability under high/low temperature, so they may be used at a wide temperature range, have a low loss at high temperature, small oil seepage, non-deterioration in corrosive environment, and have not corrosive action themselves.4. Assessment validation method of accelerated simulation environment test was established. The 7A04(LC4)aluminium alloy was taken as the basic sample, testing the anticorrosion properties of JMF colloidal sealants and relative aeronautical products. The results showed that the environment corrosion resistance ability of LC4 material has been improved after daubing with JMF colloidal sealants. 5. The change law of fatigue life of LC4 samples in corrosive environment was studied, and the fatigue test data were statistically analyzed by the "t" verification. Comparing with the primal fatigue life in routine environment, the corrosion fatigue life of testing samples which were daubed with JMF was not obviously decreased while ones without daubing with JMF obviously decreased in different test cycles.6. The study of the daubing process of new colloidal waterproof seal technique indicate that the new seal waterproof technique by scraping JMF colloidal sealant could prevent the water and corrosive medium from invading, and excellent seal waterproof and anticorrosion effects were exhibited. The JMF colloidal seal waterproof in aircraft structures should be carried out with the scraping process. Based on the result, the relative technologic rules of the JMF colloidal seal waterproof in aircraft structures was established.7. The effectiveness of the new JMF colloidal seal waterproof technique applied to improving the seal waterproof of the slots of abutting part and formation lights of typical aircraft was verified by the integrated environment test, which have laid a good technical foundation for resolving the seal waterproof problem of aircraft structures.
