The Research On Conservation And Renovation Of Industrial Architectural Heritages In Changsha Northwest District

Nowadays, with the rapid boosting process of urbanization and adjustment of economic industrial structure, many old factories originally located in the old city or city edge have been eliminated or moved, which result in remaining lots of industrial architectures, among which there are good industrial buildings with long history, such as Changsha Yu Xiang Spinners, Changsha Zinc Factory. These architectural heritages are facing the problem of conservation and renewal. It's an efficient way to reuse these buildings to resolute this contradiction. With research on conservation and renovation of industrial architectural heritage in the northwest district of Changsha, this paper attempts to provide the reuse of those buildings in the northwest district and other zones of Changsha with novel theoretical supporting and practical instruction.Underpinning it all are the recession situation and survey conclusion of the industrial architectural heritage in the northwest district of Changsha, this thesis analyses the regional environmental features in this area, according to successful cases and advanced experience of rebuild and reuse of industrial architecture heritages at home and aboard. It also conducts a systematical study and analysis on the status and characteristic of being industrial architectural heritages as well as a conventional assessment and research on the feasibility of reusable. And then proposed approaches on conservation and renovation to make these valuable buildings protected and reused.Changsha is a city with long history and now in the experimental area of two type society. It means to city culture descent, resource conservation, and environmental protection. By researching on conservation and renovation of this area, it entails sustainable development to protect city culture from material civilization. On the other hand, from spiritual civilization, the reuse of industrial architectural heritages emphasizes on retaining the memory of the city and forming a special industrial building redeveloping method.
