In recent years, there have been a continuous development of transport infrastructure, th construction and development is more rapid. In road construction, high fill embankment and culverts under high fill embankment are increasing in number of the unit length. In addition, the deteriorating geological conditions caused by the project design and construction make a great challenge, which gave birth to the new structure design, new construction technology emerged in the engineering construction, such as reinforced Reinforced embankment by geogrid, to optimize the culvert structure type and foundation treatment, but the existing research has not given a timely manner about reinforced embankment and culvert structure interaction characteristics, so researching the soil pressures on culvert under the reinforced earth embankment are important to the stability and security of embankment and Culvert.In this paper, passing through the general prototype field observation experiments in Ning-dao highway ,theoretical analysis and numerical simulation methods, give a preliminary analysis of the characteristics of the soil pressures on culvert under the reinforced earth embankment. Results are as follows:(1)The empirical formula for soil pressure on culverts under reinforced embankment is obtained;the influence coefficient about earth pressure on culvert caused by geogrid reinforced is proposed, whose calculation formula is. Improvement formula to soil pressure on culverts under the reinforced embankment from existing theory is difined.(2)By numerical simulation method to simulate the characteristics of soil pressure on culvert under reinforced embankment, the results show that: the soil pressure at top of the culvert and the concentration of earth pressure are closely related to differential settlement; the formula for the vertical soil pressure proposed by GU An-quan is more accurate.
