The safety and stability of excavation should be ensured during the deep excavation construction. It is also very important to control the deformation due to the excavation construction and its influence to surrounding environment. It is significant to study the law of excavation deformation and its control technology. This paper introduces some typical excavations in Jinan and analyzes the excavation process by numerical simulation method and optimizes the supporting structure system in Jinan. It provides technical and theoretical support to excavation design and construction in Jinan.This paper collects some useful documents and practical data of some excavations. It introduces the geological conditions and classifies typical layers in Jinan. Some poor engineering geological problem are discussed. The law of excavation deformation is introduced. The deformation mechanism of the surrounding layers during the process of excavation is discussed. Factors influencing the excavation deformation are analyzed. And estimation method of excavation deformation is provided, which supplies the theory gist for excavation support design in Jinan. This paper introduces the basic condition and main features of deep excavation in Jinan. It collects and analyzes some excavations data and lists several main support structure types of deep excavation in Jinan. It also discusses the design of main support structures of excavation in Jinan. The soil nail wall support structure for excavations in Jinan is numerically simulated using FLAC3D. This paper compares the numerical results and practical data, and then discuses the influence factors of horizontal displacement of the soil nail wall. The mechanical characteristics of the soil nail are analyzed by numerical simulation. Then the numerical result is compared with the calculative result according to the code. The stability of the soil nail wall is also analyzed using FLAC3D. The influence factors of soil nail wall stability are discussed in detail. At last some useful suggestions are provided for excavations design and construction in Jinan. It also has something referential value for similar excavation design.
