| In the coastal waters of Fujian, Shandong, Liaoning and part of Zhejiang province, the foundation is shallow buried rock one. In these waters, there are many large harbors, six of them have the freight handling capacity of over a handred million tons. They take on the transportation of crude oil, mineral and containers, and concern with economic lifelines and stratigic safety. The application and limitations of two traditional port structures, gravitational and pile supported structures in offshore deepwater with shallow rock foundation are analyzed. The disparity between open port construction of China and that of advanced contries is compared in this paper. Based on the research project-The Key Construction Technique of Light Terminal Strcture for Offshore Deepwater with Shallow Buried Rock Foundation of of higher technology of China, a new type of light structure for terminal is proposed for the conditions of deep water (more than 25m), huge wave height (12~15m), strong current (2~3m/s), shallow buried rock foundation(0~15m). All the components of the structure are elaborated. The key linkage component, rigid rock-socketed structures is studied further. Two types of rock- socketed structures suitable for light terminal structures are proposed. These structures are rock- socketed one with steel reinforced concrete core and that of concrete core inside a steel pipe.Complete structure calculation method and construction technique are presented for the analysis of the light terminal structure based on the loading features of the structure and refered to the existing code. A case study is also presented for practical application. |
