Polymer solar cells have received great attention and are in rapid development. Especially in the past several years, polymer solar cells with over 8% energy conversion efficiency have been reported in literatures. Mitsubishi Corp. has released that energy conversion efficiency of more than 10% as well as panel efficiency of 6-7% have been realized. The road of large-scale commercial applications has been getting closer. Our researches of polymer solar cells are focused on the active layer morphology and interlayer function. This thesis studied the influenece of interface on the device performances. By comparing the different deposition rate of Al, we found the causes of Voc loss. In the mean time, two recovery methods to an ideal Voc have been found, which can ensure the repeatability of experiments, and can improve the efficiency of the device. The inverted device with the hydrophilic conjugated polymers as the interlayer on ITO cathode can show promising improvements of the device performances. Particularly, the efficiency with the hydrophilic polymer interlayer can be better than that of solar cell with ZnO interlayer. We also studied the stability of solar cells with the polymer interlayer. The device with the polymer interlayer can show comparable stability to the solar cell with ZnO interlayer. Our results are valuable for the development of low temperature processing of flexible devices.
