Ray, magnetic powder, ultrasound, permeability and eddy current are five conventional NDT methods. Ultrasonic nondestructive testing has to adapt to a wide range of easy to use, harmless to human body, the use of the unique advantages of low cost. It is an very important method in non-destructive testing of the modern industry. There are many modern ultrasonic non-destructive testing methods to achieved, Including ultrasonic pulse emission, ultrasonic guided wave testing method Time Of Flight Diffraction and so on. Time Of Flight Diffraction is a kind of 80s of last century a new method of ultrasonic nondestructive testing. With the defect detection rate, high speed, high positioning accuracy of quantitative defect detection ,can record he whole processing. In recent years, this method is widely used in the weld inspections field, it will be an important techniques in the weld inspections field.Based on the principle of TOFD, this thesis analyzes the TOFD detection technology in the field of application of weld inspections methods and how to recognition test results of image. This thesis analyzes the disadvantages of TOFD detection and proposed solutions. In the thesis, we designed a set of ultrasonic TOFD data acquisition system and waveform acquisition and analysis the data.
