Because of a series of advantages steel structure is widely used in thebu_ldings The design of beam—column ioints is the most critical aspect in the steeldesign and is the one of the impo rtant factors affecting the whole steel frameperformance ln the case of rectangular tube columR COmmOnly uses the methodsof setting the inner diaphragm in the steel column to improve the joints of stiffnessand mechanical strength But this method requires the pre—setting of the innerdiaphragm to base on height of the buiIding lf the elevation error occurs in theconstruction.the dislocation between the inner diaphragm and the ioints occurs.then it WOUld not achieve the desired results Besides.in the ioint strengthening ofthe steel structure the corresponding position in the steel cOlumn is difficult to addthe diaphragm platesTo solve this problem,the proposed new joints of steel frames transferringforce outside rectangular tube column are further studied in this thesis This is anew beam—column joint without inner diaphragm By adding plates on flanges ofbeams the internal forces between beams are mainlY transferred through theadding plates and transf色rred outside rectangular tube column to reduce the stressconcentration at the beam—column connection The ioints w…be broken at the pointon the beam where adding plates are cOnRected than the traditional fa_lurepatterns were changesThe non—linear finite element method program ANSYS 1 0 0 is used to analyzethe new beam—cOlumn ioints without inner diaphragm in this thesis Main works arefollowing:1 The new beam—column joints without inner diaphragm which are applied tothe equal—height beams and the unequal—height beams,under the ve rtical load incolumR are analyzed Characters of their stress concentration stress dist ributionand car~ing capacities were studied,to research the role ofthe adding plates playsin the beam—columR iOints2 By comparing the car~ing capacities and stiffness of the new joints with thetraditional joints which are applied to the equal—height beams and theunequal—height beams,reliability and superiority of these new joints are obvious3 By analyzing joints with different sizes of the beams and columns,which areapplied to the equal—height beams and the unequal—height beams,to get the rulebetween the performances of the ioints and the change of the sizes of the beamsand columnsBy analyzing of these joints,superiority of these new joints which are appliedto the equal—height beams and the unequal—height beams,and the effects ofdifferent sizes of the beams and columns to the performance are given Fu rtherresearch of the ioints could be done based on this thesis...
