With development of living standard of our country, the improvement of indoor space environment becomes a pressing need. Therefore, the market of air-condition maintains rapid growth. However, HVAC systems consume a huge amount of energy; it leads to severe stresses for the tasks of conserving energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions of our country. Energy consumption of large commercial buildings still keeps at high level. If the designer can make a more thorough verification in the scheme choice of HVAC system, large potential of energy conservation can be explored out. This thesis did a research for the optimal design of HVAC system schemes of a large commercial building in YiWu. The contents include several aspects as follows:1 Utilized building energy consumption simulation software (DeST), a simulating analysis was made for the air-condition load of the building, generating a dynamic distribution of the annual load of HVAC system.2 Optional plans of HVAC system for the example building were elaborated in this thesis. Control strategy of water chillers was deeply analyzed with the use of MATLAB. Then, the energy consumption of cooling and heating sources was calculated by a simplified method.3 Some key problems of air-condition water system were demonstrated, and the operation consumption of each scheme of distribution system was calculated as well.4 Combined with the initial investment and the operation cost of each scheme, it found that the traditional water-cooled chiller with boiler scheme and the air-cooled heat pump scheme were almost the same in economy. Either scheme was feasible. However, economics of the VRF scheme was poor. The research results of this thesis completely based on the example project. Although there are some limitations, the research methods may be used as a guide for the optimal design of HVAC system schemes of similar buildings.
