Steel braced frame structure has been gaining popularity in high-rise building. The high-rise building is composed of steel partly or fully. As a main anti-lateral force component of the high-rise building, the layout of brace has a huge impact on the performance of the overall structure. So, the study of the layout of brace have a profound impact on the development of high-rise steel buildings in high-intensity areas.Firstly, this paper introduces the analytical theory of high-rise building; Secondly, on the basis of consulting data, This paper establishes models of brace. That includes three types, the first kind is "big corner post——cross brace" plan, the brace respectively span two layers, three layers, four layers; the second kind is "big corner post——chevron brace" plan, the brace respectively span two layers, three layers, four layers; the third kind is "big brace——cross brace" plan, the brace respectively span four layers, five layers, six layers; The advantages and disadvantages of all models is contrasted by modal analysis, spectrum analysis, time history analysis and economical efficiency. The preliminary plan are selected in the three types for the first time. Finally, artificial earthquake wave and unartificial earthquake wave are selected according to the regulation, seismic behavior of the preliminary plan is contrasted, and the optimal plan is selected. This paper formulate the initial plan, and select the best plan, through a series of calculations and analysis. It had a useful exploration of steel braced frame structure. The research process and results have a certain significance and value in promoting the development of steel braced frame structure.
