The Knee braced steel frame(KBF) is a new kind of seismic energy dissipationstructure that forms a support system with other different places, the knee bracedconnected to it at both ends of the frame beams and columns, and there support braceattached to the corner. In the earthquake, knee bracing is the main force component, itwill continue to work after the destruction of the framework. After knee bracingconnected determines its destruction, for it relatively easier, so the system has astructure of the main components of small damage,it is easy to repair after theearthquake characteristics.This article information by referring to a large number of domestic and foreignliterature, describes the knee braced steel frame in the development of domestic andinternational profiles, as well as its principles and simplify the design and calculationmethods; secondly describes the seismic analysis methods knee braced steel framestructure; Finally, by using nonlinear finite element analysis software SAP2000to buildlight steel residential model, and on its basis arranged in different locations knee bracedfor analysis of the seismic performance of each model, arrived at a different locationarrangement knee bracing impact of the program on the seismic performance of thesupport structure.Through the using of finite element analysis software SAP2000to build six layersof light steel frame type, frame structures are arranged on the corner brace to supportdifferent options, each model to calculate the level of seismic performance underearthquake. When analysis of the structure of the relevant time-history analysis, analysisof data obtained across the knee bracing arranged in the middle of the program thanknee bracing arranged in side span of the seismic performance is good.
