As the development of China's social and economic and the energy saving and emission reduction getting more seirous, the vehicle harmful emissions has become one of the principal contradiction, the state has developed for more stringent vehicle emission control regulations. Diesel engine is widely used for its good economy, while the emissions from diesel engines took the people's attention. All kinds of diesel engine emission control technology has become the core of the diesel technology, especially the development and application of exhaust after treatment technology research have been received wide attention.Paper first analyzes the mechanism of harmful emissions from diesel engines and the status of diesel post-processing techniques, and analyzes the control action of the diesel oxidation catalytic converter for diesel engine emission, introduced the system and simulation methods of diesel oxidation catalytic converter.The main work of this paper is the numerical simulation study of oxidation catalytic converter. The paper aims at the emission characteristics of diesel engine, uses AVL software development platform, establishes corresponding numerical simulation model of diesel oxidation catalysts. Simulates the impact of different entering air divergence angles, and different forms of carrier section, and different environmental pressures on the catalytic converter.Develops numerical simulation of harmful emissions from diesel engines and through the experiment checking the feasibility and accuracy of the numerical study. The numerical simulation of catalytic converters on working conditions of HC, CO comprehensive conversion rates, and PM emissions at the point condition has some agreement with experiment. Also through the use of (computational fluid) CFD software, deep study the catalyst structure of catalytic converters on plateausection and Plains region.The numerical simulation studies have shown it can improve the efficiency of catalytic converter at different altitudes in the process of designing and manufacturing. And Learning more catalytic converters relationship between structure and performance, can enable design optimization and improve capacity of catalytic converters.
